Fall Stream Monitoring
Tuesday, September 8, 2026, 9am-Noon
Rain or shine, Dam Road river crossing.
Twice a year, the Friends of the Boyne River and the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council head to the river with tweezers, waders and nets to collect macroinvertebrates (stonefly nymphs, mayfly nymphs, caddisfly larvae, etc.). The presence or absence of these pollution-sensitive “water bugs” is one of several river health indicators. Join us to collect them from three Boyne River locations. We’ll start at Dam Road, then move to the north and south branches.
Call 231-330-2923 for details.
